The packaging is half the point. Each set arrives in a miniature bread bag, twist tie and all, and it looks genuinely convincing sitting on a desk until someone picks it up.

Inside are four erasers shaped like slices of toast — browned crust edge, soft center, right down to the proportions. They’re lightly butter-scented, which is either the best or worst thing about them depending on how you feel about smelling breakfast at your desk. They also erase properly, which is more than you can say for most novelty stationery. Packaging color ships at random.

Good for a pencil case, better as a desk object, and an easy gift for the friend whose workspace is already full of small strange things.
